Seward - Boat Cruise

Today we took a trip through Resurrection Bay on the Nunatak. What a lovely day! We saw glaciers and birds and great scenery. Especially special was the fact that we saw orcas! Mike got some great shots with the new camera and I at least got one mediocre one. It is difficult to see that it is an orca, but it was a pod of six or so and it was really cool!

We met a couple from Nashville and had a nice time talking with them. People are especially nice, it seems, when you are traveling. We also visited the local library and museum, both housed in the same building. What a lovely space!

We saw sea otters and a majestic eagle sitting on the estuary barrier when we returned from the boat trip. The captain of the boat kept saying how special our day was because Seward sits in a rain forest and receives nearly 100 inches of rain a year.
