Kincaid Park - Moose and More

Today we drove out to Kincaid Park to hike and see if we could spot more wildlife. This moose was very accommodating. We saw him twice. And he never moved from his spot, even when people stopped to photograph him. We also saw lots of planes taking off, as the park is next to the airport.

After we finished our hike we decided to stop for some reindeer sausage to take with us to cook for a couple of meals on the road. The shop was very European, we even found some really good licorice there!

I forgot to mention the Oomingmak cooperative muskox hand knits store that we stopped at the other day. Our friend Stina told us we needed to go there so we did. Beautiful work, and softer than cashmere. The story of the cooperative is unique, too. So if you get to Anchorage make it a point to stop there - just to learn the story if not to buy.

Tomorrow we head to Valdez. This trip is going both too fast and not fast enough. I miss my friends and children and granddaughter - so not fast enough. But there is lots more to see - so too fast.
