We are heading along the last portion of the Alcan in Canada today. This is supposedly where the road is the worst. We started at Starbucks this morning, next to the local Walmart. The Walmart parking lot had more rvs in it than regular cars!
We watched for elk, but only saw lots of ground squirrels, even almost schmucked a couple ourselves as they ran across the road. Suddenly we saw something a bit larger crossing ahead. Turns out it was a grizzly bear just ambling along! I took a couple of photos.
We arrived at Haines Junction and stopped at the best smelling Village Bakery! We bought a ginger snap cookie that was plate sized. My favorite! Posting now in case I don't get wifi later.
