Paducah, Kentucky

We are heading to see my niece and her family near Ft. Knox. I talked Mike into going just a little beyond her place so I could visit the National Quilt Museum in Paducah.

The museum did not disappoint, although I could not take any photos inside. I saw quilts created by many of my favorite quilters, from Ricky Tims to Katie Pasquini Masopust to Melody Johnson to----.
While I could not take my own photos, no photos do justice to these quilts anyway. Here are images I found of a few of the quilts I saw. They were incredible!

The museum was also having an exhibition of winning quilts from 12th Quilt Nihon, Japan. These were particularly spectacular - impossibly complicated and beautifully executed.

If you are a quilter this museum has to be on your bucket list. These people are true artists!
